The Counsellor will be responsible of holding a case load and providing specialist Counselling support to victims of Sexual Assault.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2025 at full time hours. Part time hours will be considered for the right candidate (minimum 34 hours per week). As part of Windermere flexible ways of working a 9-day fortnight can be applied for if working full time hours. Flexible hours will also be considered. This really is a truly rewarding opportunity for someone with a professional background in Counselling and working with victims of Sexual Assault

 As Windermere is a not-for-profit organisation, employees are able to claim everyday living expenses up to $15,900 against their annual Pre-Tax Salary.  See example below and note this depends on your individual circumstances:
Fortnightly take-home salary without salary packaging starts at $2,900 however, if you maximise salary packaging this will be $3,089 per fortnight (this is the equivalent comparative salary in the job market to $104,619 per annum)

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in counselling, social work, psychology or relevant equivalent
  • Direct experience providing specialist counselling to victim survivors of sexual assault.
  • MARAM trained.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of trauma and trauma informed practice.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of sexual assault and family violence.
  • Demonstrated assessment skills, including psychosocial assessment
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Able to maintain consumer files and databases. Ability to prepare written reports.
  • Planning and organising – excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
  • Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks.
  • Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa holder with full working rights
